Elfen Lied

MURDEROUS CAT GIRL NUKU-NUKU

I watched ELFEN LIED today at anime night over at Robin's house (yum Chili x Rice ^_^) and I must say that I must be getting soft in my old age.. first it was GUNSLINGER GIRLS, now this... maybe I have an extremely soft spot for cute girls thrown into a seemingly meaningless life of pain & suffering >_<...

...but yes this is an interesting anime series about appendage ripping blood splattering cute girls in a horrible angsty setting - VERY ample fan service >_<.

Think Gunslinger girls + Jojo's Bizarre Adventure + Boy meets girl, meets girl, meets girl, meets girl (Tenchi Muyo style) + EVA + All purpose Cultural Cat girl Nuku-nuku... then you have Murderous cat girl Nyu-nyu.

Sad thing is.. for those who know the history, people will think that my MRB95's Makoto Udeshii's psychokick of "ghost hands" was ripped off from this anime >_<...

You know, an RL associate of mine has been trying to get me over to his place for an Elfen Lied marathon for a while now. I did think of Makoto as soon as he started describing the invisible appendage thing in detail...:) But I know MRB predates all of this, so I assume that the story writers ripped you off because they couldn't think of anything better. Plus, ripping off Sho's [Endless Rain] or the [Diablo Kiss] would have been way too obvious. ;) I dunno, I've felt vaguely interested in the series for a while now, but ever since Gantz struck me as so "blah" I've been wary of going after a series just out of the bloodlust/shock appeal. :/

Does the "cute girls suffering" equation also explain that Read Or Die fling you had a while back? XD

speaking of watching new anime's,

there is KOF anime that's coming out (there are 2 out right now). It's a bunch of shorts based on events after the game "King of Fighters: Maxium Impact". They're about 10 mins long, and the first one has Iori kicking ass. If you get the chance I'd suggest trying to get a hold of them, I don't know if they're available anywhere but the internet right now.

well for all I know the guy might have thought of it before I did - it just took him this long to make it an anime : ) as far as Read or Die.. that one is out in left field for me.

Hey where can I download it? Should I just search for KOF anime? : )

Anyways J, don't go out of your way to see this just cause it caught my eye (and my short attention span) until I see something that says otherwise it is just an exercise in "Urotsukidoji" Legend of Overfiend shock factor.. and just a way to feed my desire and hunger for suffering on screen.

O...or else my recommendations might begin to turn you off.. I will reserve the OH DA TEARS recommendations for worthy anime.
