today was an ordinary day

and it was extrordinarily happy...

-Boss was out today.
-Had a very good time at the gym.
-Got a pretty, new, light counter-sniper rifle (still nameless).
-Traded my GOOD BUDDY for a custom made folding dagger. PRICELESS (ie. a knife he would not make for money alone.)
-and... the ebay seller who sold me my NEO GEO offered to buy me a new cable from his own pocket. There are STILL honourable people in the world. I think I judged him right...

-KAMPAI! Cheers! : D

Yay! ^_^ I've had this post in a separate window on my comp all day, because it gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling every time I look at that pic. It's so awesome, the three of us with our signature drinks, hanging out with a little random Fei Plushie. :D *happy!*

How is a counter-sniper rifle different from a normal sniper rifle? o.o

And I'm so glad that the NG guy came through for you and chose to do good. Everything sounds peachy over there for you. :)

Thanks for dropping by as always : ) last night was very good for me and I think it reflected in my doodles.. it was another scene in my head that just HAD to be drawn up.. my other projects were put on hold agian.. but for th emost part I just wanted some time to take it easy and appreciate slow happy scenes.

As far as Counter-Sniper rifles. I am sure Troy would have a lot to say and correct my shortcomings, but to me the whole counter-sniper combat theory (at least in Law enforcement aplications), that is to hunt snipers, is pretty intense because you do not have the luxury to set up and stalk your enemy, who is, a sniper as well. Instead you have to be quick and reactionary.

For me.. in an urban setting you need a relatively light (my big stick, Lulu is a heavy beast) rifle with a shorter barrel so you can move quickly when you have to change places and counter (or to climb up 10 flights of stairs pronto when you have to), and also to maneuver stairwells and tight corners when you don't have the luxury to take your time to pick a primo spot.

The scope is a whole 'nother philosophy as well with bullet drop compensators as well as quick adjustments. Ie. you can, in theory, tackle mutiple targets at varying distances (usually between two - three buildings in an urban setting) when you make those adjustments you dont have to do the math in your head and use the calibrated knobs, there are other thigns.. but basically think less, adjust fast and move.. that is what a countersniper is trained to do. I should know.. I play one in my dreams : D

Excellent Grasshopper...

You left out a lower magnification on the scope so you can scan a larger area...
