I am in the process of uploading a familiar feeling, a sweet familiar memory.
THE COLOUR PURPLE 12 - ENDLESS CHAIN.
I think this is how I wanted this chapter to pace from the beginning. Finally as well, I think I have discovered Rugal's ultimate purpose in life. Hooray hooray! : D
Tomorrow I will accept a new child, a Springfield Armory M1A, semi-automatic .308 match combat rifle. I think I will name her 'VENGEFULL MARIA'.

...Man, you totally can't tell that the author is a big gun fan from these chapters. I mean, where's all the l33t cocking and banging action I was hoping for? Jeez, one would suspect that you were almost averse to the idea of well-oiled rifles pumping payload after hot payload into warm and helplessly yielding human flesh. Are you turning Democrat on me, sir?
...But, my BS gun-in-cheek (heh ;B) commentary aside, I really do like what you did with Endless Chain. IMHO, the original Ch.12 was adequate for its purpose--it proved its point, but ended up not giving a ton of substantial backstory to Ralf and Clark (despite the flashback scenes that it included). I really appreciated the extra detail given to Ralf in this expanded edition, since it made him less of a two-dimensional jerk, at least to me. :) He seems like an interesting character in his own right now.
And the new approach for Rugal kicks ass overall. This material here has enough punch (IMO) to add a hefty dose of interest to him, but it's still vague enough in places to carry through and gather more info from the story as it goes. I dig it. :)
Now I'm all twitchy as I wait for part three. "Please, sir, can I have some more?" b^_^d

As always thanks for the support J : ) I was unsure if I wanted to post the two sub chapters to begin with but I thought - eehh I'd better see where it goes.. Chapter 12.01 I think I will not touch anymore but I might want to slip and cut a bit of Chapter 12.02 because it just goes on and on and on about gun zen >_< (ugh) and blabbers a lot about Ralf.. I will take it down tonight for some rework on 02 : } to make Ralf more vague.. but tied into the whole "Endless chain" motiv.
Thanks for the support on Ralf as well.. in the beginning I just wanted him to be a jerk and that was his claim to fame.. and I still want him to be that way - I dont want him to be too cliche tho, as in boohoo I went thru hard times thus I need to be a jerk : }
I tried to slow down tho on the preaching cause I dont want to ruin the spirit with the remix I am doing to old chapters ^^.

I agree, tis very cool stuff indeed :3 I eagerly await the final installation~! and I wish I remembered more of the original cut... it's been so long since I've read it all ^^;;;

I reread part 2 to be sure I had it straight in my head, and (speaking just for myself) I think the gun Zen stood out more in part 1. There was some noticeable "product placement," but I would think that experienced mercs would be extremely justified in being obsessed with the exact type of weapons that they decided to use. :)
Your call on whether there's too much Ralf backstory in 2--I handled it alright, but I don't think it would suffer stylistically or anything if you shaved some of it off to streamline it a bit, if you wanted to.
Oddly, Ralf didn't come off as having a victim complex to me. o.o I got more of an impression that his annoying personality was something like an emotional shield that built up in response to his past experiences, possibly something like a defensive reflex that he used to protect the mental scars that he got back then. He didn't do enough active whining about his crappy life for me to see him as a selfish martyr. :) As an added bonus, the fact that he acts like a dumb jerk makes people fatally underestimate him, as these sections proved--that's kind of clever on his part.
But this is only feedback from a bystander, so just tell me if I'm irritating you...^^;;

well we shall see if I can finish off ENDLESS chain sometime : ) hanks for your patience and guidance as always...
I think in the end I will prolly trim off some of the backstory in 02.. Ralf is who he is.. I never really thought of his motives and I guess I don't want him to be suffering from victim complex cause he isn't.. well maybe later but prolly not : ) I like the character and will see where it goes.. Justidying too much is too into a set formula...
thanks as always : ) I coudln't help the gun zen : p but what was important was to impart that the fists were more powerful than the gun..maybe I cna impart that later...
