It can only happen here... in MD, USA
I was asked to make a flyer for BALIVILLE 2006 ^_^ (the first??? national BALISONG competition in Baltimore, Maryland) While the actual flyer art is still in progress I made this logo submission to try my luck.
I am sure you don't want to hear about the whole platonic desire to legalize balisongs and point out the descrepancies of outdated laws (ie. stealing a man's horse is a crime punishable with death) but just dance with me here...

it looks really cool
awesome! XD
there's a competition for these kinds of things? I never knew~ ^^
That kicks so much ass! I'm envisioning shirts...
I can't wait to compete in Baliville. Are you going to be there?
Anonymous peoples!!! GYADAMIT, WHO ARE YOU!!? >_<
Chesapeake knife show in Baltimore, MD is in December, I don't want to commit but I want to try to go (if my parents don't visit then I am free)... You know.. for old times sake and to make yesterday and today the same kind of thing.
Thanks for the compliments ; )
I still have to make the sketch for the flyer.. this logo was more of an accident. The guys want to make an EIGHT FOOT TALL poster of J. Holiday so I have to get cranking on a high res version - and I think a high res version shirt is in the works.. Oh well.. if I can get free admission, merchandise for my portfolio and a free Sushi dinner I am game : )
My Manager-san is just too cool.
Plus I get to see a real live Johnny Holiday Cosplayer - OH - DA TEARS!!!
BTW Yuu - this is pretty much the self proclaimed the FIRST balisong competition in the US of A. It's basically a sideshwow in the MD knife show.
sweet~ thanks for the info, dude.
2 things:
1). if there's a shirt, let me know where I can buy it :D
2). how did you make that effect for the final picture? photoshop filters? I'm very uneducated in these sorts of things ^^;
Hey Dude.. I will let you know and thanks for the support : )
I am not sure what you mean by photoshop filters but the logo was entirely done by hand. That is I started out with a blue and red canvas and manually traced out the image.
ahhhh, I see. it's a nice effect and I couldn't figure out how you did it ^.^
